The New Forest Big Band
I have been playing with the New Forest Big Band since the late 1990’s, one of only two remaining members from that original line up. During 2018 the band underwent a major re-organisation in terms of how it is run and at that point I took over leadership of the band..
The band has the following line up:
- Five saxophones
- Four trumpets
- Four trombones
- Piano, guitar, bass and drums
- Female vocalist (Angela Jackson)
We are flexible and versatile and have a diverse range of material in our library. We are able to support your needs whether it be for a ‘traditional’ big band concert, public entertainment at an event or festival, live music for ballroom dancing, or ‘disco’ type dance music for a function. Clearly the engagement of eighteen musicians is going to be considerably more expensive than a small band but you can’t beat the sound of a full big band if you want your event to be extra special! We are also able to offer concessions on our normal commercial rates for charitable or community events.
